What is the process for an assessment?

Before our assessment, we arrange a time for a phone call to talk about the reasons for your referral, and to decide on the best approach. We will send you forms via email or post, for you to complete. These forms help to gather important information about your child, and their developmental history. Assessments are carried out in your home or school, and usually take around 2 hours. Your child needs to wear comfortable clothing and runners.

How long is your waiting list?

Average waiting times for an appointment is between 3 and 6 weeks and can be longer during busier times. You can opt to be contacted in the instance of a cancellation, and we will try our very best to see you as soon as possible.

What is the age range of the children you work with?

Will my Insurance cover therapy fees?

Accepted Answer

Most health insurance companies cover a percentage of the costs associated with OT. This will depend on your Health Insurance Plan Cover. Please contact your Insurer for more details.

Yes, all reports and recommendations are fully accepted by Government Bodies and Agencies.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask that if you cannot go ahead with your appointment, that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to another family/person. We will try to reschedule your appointment for as soon as possible. Cancelled sessions which are re-arranged are not charged. Therapy appointments which are cancelled without 48 hour notice, and not rearranged are subject to a 50 euro charge.

How and when do I pay?

Payments are due in full on day of assessment/treatment session. You can pay by Electronic Funds Transfer, via online banking. We hope to have a card facility available soon.

You can self-refer directly to the service, via phone or email; you do not need a referral from a GP.

Question 11

My child has been assessed by another OT, can we still avail of your service?

Accepted Answer

If your child has been assessed within the last 12 months by an OT, you can avail of the service without a formal assessment, if you are able to provide a copy of the report. If it is longer than 12 months since your child has seen a Therapist, it is policy to reassess your child. It is best to work with one OT at a time.

How long will it take for me to receive my report or recommendations?
