Before our assessment, we arrange a time for a phone call to talk about the reasons for your referral, and to decide on the best approach. We will send you forms via email or post, for you to complete. These forms help to gather important information about your child, and their developmental history. Assessments are carried out in your home or school, and usually take around 2 hours. Your child needs to wear comfortable clothing and runners. We ask that if you cannot go ahead with your appointment, that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to another family/person. We will try to reschedule your appointment for as soon as possible. Cancelled sessions which are re-arranged are not charged. Therapy appointments which are cancelled without 48 hour notice, and not rearranged are subject to a 50 euro charge. If your child has been assessed within the last 12 months by an OT, you can avail of the service without a formal assessment, if you are able to provide a copy of the report. If it is longer than 12 months since your child has seen a Therapist, it is policy to reassess your child. It is best to work with one OT at a time.
